SSAF consultation

The Higher Education Support (Student Services, Amenities, Representation and Advocacy) Guidelines 2022 require providers who charge a SSAF to formally consult with democratically elected student representatives at their institution about how, specifically, the proceeds from any compulsory SSAF are used. The student consultation process must be reviewed and approved annually by a provider’s governing body.

The UOW process and timeline for Consultation is approved by UOW Council in December of each year. The approved process includes a survey for all enrolled students who contribute a SSAF and consultation with the Student Advisory Council (SAC).

2025 SSAF student survey

The 2025 SSAF: Student Services and Amenities Student Survey will be open in May 2024. We will send you a survey link via SOLS.

The survey is quick and easy to complete, the survey gives current UOW students an opportunity to rank in order of priority UOW’s SSAF spending priorities and identify the value of SSAF projects to their overall student experience at UOW.

For any questions about SSAF, please email ssa-consultation@uow.edu.au.

Consultation with Student Advisory Council (SAC)

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) is the democratically elected group of students, representing student interests. The SAC SSAF Sub Committee reviews project submissions and annual student survey data and provides recommendations on the importance of each project, along with providing student commentary to be given Project Managers and Executive. Recommendations from this sub committee are reviewed and endorsed by the full Student Advisory Council.
